Print and color a beautiful landscape. When you’re done, practice cutting in straight lines and cut out all the bricks. After, place the bricks on top of the landscape and pretend you’re lifting off each paper brick to discover a beautiful view. This free printable was originally created to go with the book Brick by Brick but can be used anytime you’re looking to practice your cutting skills and have fun coloring too. It can also be used to practice counting and making a guess or a “prediction” on how many bricks might cover the sun, two clouds, or your whole drawing. Consider adding numbers and having your child put the bricks in order over the image; then remove them in pairs or lift up only the even numbers. To play with letters, add the alphabet and put in order. If you have a photo, you could also put the paper bricks over the photo and try the activity there… depending on the sentimental value of the photo, you could also incorporate painter’s tape to stretch out the activity and the fun!
