This is a free carrot template printable.
Mom and I made this carrot template printable to use with a make your own carrot patch activity! We thought it would be a super fun paper gardening activity to accompany the book Let’s Grow Vegetables written by Anne-Sophie Baumann and illustrated by Deborah Pinto.
We’ve been really into practicing our letters at home, so we wrote the letters of Rosie’s name on each carrot. You might just be looking for a free carrot template printable to use as a carrot coloring sheet. If you happen to be looking for gardening theme activities for preschoolers. here are some fun games to play with your carrot template if you use it to create a carrot patch:
- Write your name, assigning a letter to each of your carrots, then pull the carrots out and say something that starts with that letter. Then say something that ends with that letter.
- Spell you name with the carrots. Can you spell any other words with the available letters from your name?
- Write numbers on your carrots instead of letters and practice adding and subtracting using the numbers that you’ve written.
- Print lots of carrots and make your own pretend farmer’s stand or farmer’s market… pretend you’re a farmer selling your produce. How much will you charge? Use your made up sales number to have fun with math!
Here’s how we used our template, in case you want to do this too:
