Want to color a map of Mexico? Here’s a free Mexico coloring page just in time for Cinco de Mayo.
Here are three fun facts of Cinco de Mayo to think about as you color your map of Mexico:
- Cinco de Mayo, means the fifth of May. It’s a holiday that celebrates the date of Mexico’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War, on May 5, 1862. It’s actually not that big a celebration in Mexico but it is in the United States, as it’s become a day we honor Mexican culture.
- Americans eat about 81 million avocados during Cinco de Mayo.
- While often confused, Cinco de Mayo is not the Mexican Independence Day. That’s on September 16.
