Looking for counting preschool worksheets? Here’s a free pre-k math printable inspired by the book The Red Ballon by Albert Lamorisse.

We love making counting preschool worksheets that are super fun and unique and think you’ll love this one! There are many counting preschool activities you can find on the web but this one sets itself apart with its tie-in to a literary theme and a renowned book and movie!

Grab a red crayon to help you do the preschool arithmetic! Well, it’s more of a preschool addition worksheet.

Counting preschool worksheets vary in tasks. For this one, see if your child can do the math very straight-forwardly. Maybe your child can simply add the numbers and color in the correct response! If your child isn’t there yet, this adding printable for kids can help! Have them read the numbers, say 1+1. If your child is just getting started have them color in the first balloon, then color in the next number (also a 1 in this case) and then ask how much is it — 1+1? If it doesn’t quite click yet, ask: How many balloons did you color? This should help them along. And, by coloring the balloon red it also allows them to continue to engage with the truly wonderful The Red Balloon book.
