trace the word

Trace the word swim with this fun summertime tracing activity!

We originally thought of this tracing words pdf to go with the book Jabari Jumps written and illustrated by Gaia Cornwall; but it can be used anytime you’d like to practice tracing the letter s, w, i or m.

This word tracing printable is perfect for summertime as kids are getting excited about possibly swimming at a pool or beach. You can use this tracing handout as a way to set the mood for summer, in advance of a summer vacation, or as an activity to do while you’re away that’s within the summertime theme.

This free tracing activity encourages children to trace the letter s, trace a lower case w, practice tracing i’s and trace a lower case letter m. In the end, they’ll practice writing the word “swim” several times.

Want to create your OWN words for your child to trace? Or, draft a postcard for kids to mail to friends while away? Here’s a free handwriting worksheet generator that lets you create the words you most want your child to trace.

We hope this trace the word gets your kids excited to learn to write a new word!
