Arthur’s Tree House Book and Play Set from Storytime Toys is hands-on fun with a short and sweet book from Marc Brown’s classic Arthur books collection. In Arthur’s Tree House, Arthur is excited to read his new Bionic Bunny comic book, but he has a problem. He can’t find a quiet place to read! His dad is vacuuming the bedroom, his mom is busy in the kitchen, his sister, D.W., is dancing in the living room, and Pal, his puppy, just wants to play. The only spot Arthur finds is up in a tree, which gives his dad the idea to build Arthur his very own tree house, where he can go read his book, hang out with with his friends and family, or just have a special place to be all alone.

I really like this book. I like how Arthur’s family comes looking for him when they are free but my very favorite part is how the whole team comes together to make the tree house and draws a sketch and then builds it. The illustrations are interesting and the ones from the tree house make me feel like I’m also in the tree house. On the back cover of the book there are hidden items to find, like a hammer and nails. I liked going back to find the items. Most of all, I liked building the tree house! The pieces in the playset are made of lightweight EVA foam and high quality card stock and the whole thing is like a giant 3-D puzzle. Once it was built, I put Arthur and his friends inside the treehouse, had them play outside, bike, and swing. My mom likes that it keeps me busy for a long time, acting out different scenarios.
