Boy meets a robot named Bot and they quickly become best buddies in BOY + BOT, written by Ame Dyckman and illustrated by Dan Yaccarino. They run and play and walk on logs until Bot accidentally gets switched off. Boy thinks Bot is sick and tries many ways to make him feel better, like covering him with a blanket and feeding him. Boy is so tired after his long day, that he falls asleep. When Bot powers on, he finds the Boy asleep and thinks he’s broken. So, Bot then tries to fix the Boy, the only ways that he knows how. This is such a fun book to read and very funny. I thought it was silly the ways the Bot wanted to fix the Boy. I really like the illustrations.

Mom loves this book. She says it’s short and sweet and filled with heart. Throughout the book you can hear Bot say “affirmative,” which we now say around my house too instead of ‘yes’ sometimes.
