Looking for a super simple and fun gardening game you can easily play indoors? Here’s one that just needs some fake or paper leaves and a broom to stand-in for a rake!

Above you’ll find illustrated instructions for your child to lead this gardening game. Here’s a cheat sheet on the four steps illustrated above for the adults. Encourage your child to embody a farmer working the land and keeping the grounds tidy. Tie this gardening activity to a book. It was originally created to go with Let’s Grow Vegetables, written by: Anne-Sophie Baumann and illustrated by Deborah Pinto, but can be used at any time!

  1. Place some fake or paper leaves on the floor.

  2. Get a broom.

  3. Pretend the broom is a rake and rake the leaves…

  4. Rake the leaves into a pile.
