Beep! Beep! Beep! If you’re like me, that’s what you’ll be saying after you read my Little Blue Truck.
I liked the rhyme and the fast-paced story. Mom liked the strong plot and that I wanted to read it again. We thought it would make a great first pick since I still really like it and now have more of the Little Blue Truck books.
Little Blue Truck is about a small truck named Blue. He’s nice and has lots of friends, which comes in handy when he finds himself in trouble while driving out in the country. A yellow Dump Truck is in a hurry and being very rude. He’s also not paying attention and ends up turning the wheel too fast and getting stuck in the muck. When the Dump Truck yells for help the animals ignore him. When Blue hears this, he quickly tries to help but since he isn’t big enough and gets stuck in the muck too.
I’m stuck, I’m stuck, cries Blue. When the friends hear that Blue needs help, they stop what they’re doing, leap over fences, and come running as fast as they can to help their good friend. It’s a fun story about being nice and working together. I love looking at the illustrations, especially the funny expressions the animals make. Blue and Toad are my favorites. I also like that the animals and vehicles talk to each other. The rhyming text and personalities of the characters make me want to hear more. Afterward, mom bought me Little Blue Truck Springtime which has flaps that I get to lift. I also have Little Blue Truck’s Christmas — that book has a very special surprise at the end.
