The Most Magnificent Thing book, written and illustrated by Ashley Spires, is truly the most magnificent thing! We LOVE this book. And don’t even get us started on the little girl’s assistant. What a friend and helper that little girl has!

The book is about a creative girl that has this idea in her head of a magnificent thing she wants to make. The challenge is getting that magnificent thing out of only her head and into real life. She comes close a few times, but misses the mark. All the while, her dog, aka her assistant, is by her side – helping, cheering her on, and doing doggie things.

I really like how the dog suggests things to keep the girl moving ahead, even when she doesn’t feel like it. This is a really good book to help kids feel empowered to chase their dreams. It’s also a good book to teach kids when to take a breath, step back, and come back ready to tackle things again.

My mom loves to make things with me and thinks this is a very important book. She likes this book as much as I do. And soon, I have a hunch, as much as you will like it too.
