weight worksheet kindergarten

Looking for a weight worksheet for kindergarten? Here’s one that encourages children to read the numbers off a scale —  a cooking scale!

This measurement worksheet is a great way to teach children about how much things weigh, particularly cooking ingredients. This free weight printable has sugar, butter, flour and yogurt, placed on different scales. Children are asked to look at the number on the scale and write in how many ounces the item weighs. We used this worksheet on weight with the book I Am a Little Pastry Chef, by Mayumi Oono.

In addition to talking about how much things weigh on this page, we bought an inexpensive scale and started weighing items we found in our own kitchen. This handout came to life and provided a lot of fun. We also talked about ounces as a unit of measurement.
