space book for kids

Are you looking for a space book for kids that can hold the attention of a preschooler? Then check out The Pop-Up Guide: Space, written by Sophie Dussaussois and illustrated by Charline Picard. This eye-popping book uses multi-layered 3-D scenes that really let kids experience space in a very special way.

This kids space book includes 10 big pop-ups with lots of color and interesting things to look at. My favorite pages included the moon walking page (because I’m totally into footprints of all kinds), and the section on how astronauts train. I love that astronauts go to special astronaut school and that it looks a little but like my school. They also exercise and sit together at a table, like we do when we play at different centers or stations. I really liked that. I also liked learning that astronauts like science and math, because those are my favorites too.

Mom likes that this space book preschool is sturdy for a pop-up. She also likes that there’s enough information on each page but it’s not too much. I ask a lot of questions. The more I see the more I want to know. We end up looking up a lot of cool things after on Google.

Whether you want to get an idea of what it’s like to prepare for a space mission or see the Earth from way above, I think you’ll really like this space book for kids.

Space Activity for Preschoolers
I loved the idea of being an astronaut and being on the moon so much that I asked mom to make a photo frame of an astronaut on the moon where I could cut out the part where the head goes and put my picture. Here’s that moon frame in case you’d like it too. It’s free, just print (in color) or color it in and add your own photo. If you’re having a space theme party for kids this could make a great space theme party favor for kids! Here’s a picture of what it looks like. Just scroll down to “SEE PDF” to print it now!
