This video is all about thumbprint art.
If you’re looking for thumbprint art ideas, these thumbprint art insects (with free jar template) were a hit here with Rosie! She loved positioning her thumb just right on the paper and then watching her thumbprint make colorful insects. Together we made two bees, a butterfly, spider, lady bug, snail and caterpillar. And did we have fun!
This easy thumbprint craft for preschoolers was indirectly inspired by the book I’m a Gluten-Sniffing Service Dog, written by Michal Babay and illustrated by Ela Smietanka. The celiac picture book explains celiac disease in a fun way telling the story of a dog named Chewie that is eager to graduate from doggy training school to become a service dog for a little girl. In the book, Chewie is often outdoors so we imagined what types of insects Chewie might see outside. We were trying to come up with an activity for which to make this easy gluten-free finger paint recipe. Remember to download the free jar template to put your insects inside. We’re thinking of doing this again and making a jar full of firefly thumbprints to mark the summer!
Get the free jar template here.
